LocalServiceHQ aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA on every page. We test the calculators, the directory and the service pages with keyboard navigation, screen-reader labels and 200% zoom.

What we have done

  • Every interactive control has a visible keyboard focus ring.
  • Inputs and selects have visible labels, not placeholder-only labels.
  • Images carry descriptive alt text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Colour contrast targets 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Pages work without JavaScript for the main content, with the calculators requiring it.

Known limitations

  • Some very old embedded calculator widgets are being replaced; the new versions are keyboard accessible.
  • Third-party social share previews are outside our control.

Report a problem

Email admin@localservicehq.com with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within two business days and fix confirmed issues in the next release.

Accessibility statement and testing

Conformance target

LocalServiceHQ aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA on every page. That covers the price guides, the calculators, the directory, the events pages and the forms. We treat accessibility as a maintenance task, not a one-time audit.

What we have implemented

AreaWhat we did
Keyboard useEvery link, button and form control has a visible focus ring and can be reached with Tab
FormsInputs have visible labels, not placeholder-only labels, and errors are written in text
ImagesPhotos have descriptive alt text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
ContrastBody text targets 4.5:1 and large text 3:1 against its background
ZoomLayouts work at 200% zoom without a horizontal scrollbar
MotionNo autoplay video or flashing content; no intrusive interstitials
CalculatorsThe calculator inputs and results are keyboard accessible and labelled

How we test

  • Keyboard-only pass on the calculator, directory and form pages
  • Screen reader pass on a sample of guide, calculator and directory pages
  • Zoom and mobile width checks at 320px, 390px and 200% desktop zoom
  • Automated checks for missing labels, alt text and heading order

Known limitations

  • Some older embedded calculator widgets are being replaced with the accessible versions.
  • Third-party previews, such as social share cards, are outside our control.
  • A few data tables scroll horizontally on very small screens. The same data is in the price index as a filterable table and a CSV.
