About LocalServiceHQ

In short: LocalServiceHQ publishes US home service prices, contractor licensing rules and free calculators. Every page shows its sources and the month it was checked, and no company can pay to change a price or a ranking.

LocalServiceHQ publishes real US home service prices, state contractor rules and free calculators so homeowners can check a job before they hire.

What we do

Every cost page shows a low, typical and high price with a source and a date. Every calculator shows its formula. Every state page names the licensing board and links to it. When we cannot verify something, we say so instead of guessing.

How we make money

Two ways, both disclosed on the pages they appear: businesses can list in our directory and buy featured placements or dofollow directory links, and we sell quote requests (leads) to relevant local companies. Paid placement never changes the organic order of our price pages, and we mark paid links as sponsored until the plan is confirmed.

Editorial rules

  • Prices come from published cost guides and supplier list prices, compared at least twice a year.
  • Ranges are estimates, not quotes, and we say so on every page.
  • We correct mistakes and publish the correction date.
  • We do not invent prices, licences or reviews.

Who we are

LocalServiceHQ is operated by Local Revenue Flow, LLC. The editorial team researches and writes the cost guides; the calculators are built and checked against the same data.

How a price gets on the page

  1. Compare published cost guides. We read national cost guides (for example HomeGuide, Angi and HomeAdvisor) and record the range each one prints.
  2. Check supplier list prices. Materials such as concrete, shingles, pavers and lumber are priced from supplier lists, so the material part of a range is not guesswork.
  3. Keep the date. Every table says the month it was compared. When a price is stale we re-check it before publishing an update.
  4. Show the formula. Each calculator prints the formula it uses and a worked example, so you can see where a number came from instead of trusting a black box.

Who writes and checks it

The guides, calculators and state licence pages are produced by the LocalServiceHQ editorial team. The same team checks the worked examples when a price changes. Our editorial team page explains the process, our methodology explains the numbers, and our editorial policy explains how corrections are handled.

How we make money

LocalServiceHQ is free for homeowners. We earn from two lines only: businesses can list in the directory (free, or paid featured and backlink plans), and we pass quote requests from our calculators to one relevant local company. Both are disclosed in our advertiser disclosure. Payment cannot change a price, a ranking or a calculator result.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell a place in the organic order of a price page.
  • We do not publish a number we cannot trace to a source.
  • We do not invent reviews or star ratings.
  • We do not hide the fact that a listing or slot is paid. Paid placements are labelled.

Who runs the site

How does LocalServiceHQ make money?

There are two lines: businesses can list in the directory, free or with a paid featured or backlink plan, and quote requests from our calculators can be passed to one relevant local company. Payment cannot change a price, a ranking or a calculator result.

Where do the prices come from?

National cost guides such as HomeGuide, Angi and HomeAdvisor are compared with supplier list prices, and every table records the month it was checked. Each calculator page prints the formula it uses and a worked example.

How do I report a wrong price?

Email admin@localservicehq.com with the page URL and the source you have. We compare the source with the page, update it if the source is stronger, and note the correction on the page.
